Types of Bone Grafting

At New Haven Dental Center, we specialize in bone grafting procedures to help restore the health and function of your teeth and gums. We offer a variety of different types of bone grafting techniques to suit your individual needs, including sinus lifts, ridge augmentations, and block grafts.

Sinus lifts involve adding bone to the upper jaw in the area of the molars and premolars. This type of grafting is used to elevate the sinus floor and allow for the placement of dental implants. Ridge augmentations are used to increase the width of the jawbone so that it can better support dental implants. Block grafts involve taking a block of bone from another part of the body and implanting it into the jawbone. All of these grafting techniques are used to help restore the health and function of your teeth and gums.

At New Haven Dental Center, our experienced team of dental professionals will work with you to determine the best type of bone grafting procedure to meet your needs. We are dedicated to providing you with the highest quality of care and will ensure that your bone grafting procedure is successful. Contact us today to learn more about our bone grafting services.

Preparation for Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is a procedure used to rebuild the jawbone and restore it to its original form. Dr. Blake Weil at New Haven Dental Center is a highly experienced and skilled dentist who specializes in this type of surgery. He will assess your individual case to determine the best treatment plan to restore your jawbone.

Before the procedure, Dr. Weil will conduct a thorough examination to ensure that bone grafting is the best option for you. He may also recommend other treatments such as dental implants or other reconstructive surgery. During the examination, he will discuss the risks and benefits of the procedure and answer any questions you may have. After the examination, Dr. Weil will provide detailed instructions on how to prepare for the bone grafting procedure.

Recovery After Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is a common procedure used to repair the jawbone, which can be damaged due to periodontal disease or trauma. After the bone grafting procedure, it is important to follow the post-operative instructions given to you by your dentist.

Following your dentistโ€™s instructions will help to ensure a successful bone grafting procedure and a speedy recovery. Your dentist will likely suggest that you take pain medication and antibiotics as prescribed to minimize discomfort and prevent infection. You may also be advised to eat soft foods and avoid strenuous physical activity for a period of time.

Staff are friendly and professional, I had a 4 hour procedure today and Kimi, who did a lot of the work and Dr Weil explained what was going on and what was going to happen all throughout the procedures. Also asked me occasionally if I was doing ok. So far I am happy with my choice coming here for my dental needs. June 2024. Back for a routine cleaning. Hygienist was friendly and good at her job. This was one of the better cleaning experiences that I have had.
